SJIT’s digital-first model makes international participation a normal part of the academic environment, while each program still has its own format, eligibility, schedule, financial conditions, and—when relevant—location-specific requirements.

Global by Design

International does not mean peripheral to the SJIT model.

SJIT was designed around participation that is not confined to one campus or one country. Students can engage with academic programs, instructors, materials, and institutional services through a digital-first environment intended to support an international community.

That global model does not erase practical differences between programs. International students should still check the offering’s admissions model, live-session schedule, payment conditions, language expectations, scholarship information, and any in-person components before enrolling or applying.

What to Check

Six questions matter more than the word “international.”

The practical experience of studying across borders depends on the actual program. These are the areas international applicants should review before making a commitment.

Program format

SJIT is digital-first, and many academic experiences are designed for online participation. Always check whether a specific offering is fully online, includes live sessions, or contains any location-specific element.

Eligibility across borders

International participation depends on the program’s intended audience and eligibility rules. Nationality alone does not create a universal SJIT admissions category or guarantee eligibility for every offering.

Language

Any language expectations are defined by the program. Integrated Programs can include language assistance as part of SJIT support, but that should not be assumed for every SJIT offering.

Payment & scholarships

Program charges, payment procedures, currency arrangements, and scholarship availability should be reviewed for the active offering. Financial support is not automatically attached to admission.

Time zones & live participation

Programs with synchronous classes, mentoring, or events can create time-zone considerations. Students should review the active schedule before committing to a format that includes live participation.

In-person opportunities

If an offering includes study or activity in another country, travel and immigration requirements depend on the location, the participant’s nationality, and the external institution or program involved.

Travel & Immigration

Online participation and physical presence are different legal situations.

Participating in an online SJIT offering generally does not involve relocating to the country where SJIT has an institutional presence. When a program or Integrated Program includes physical travel, however, the relevant entry, visa, immigration, or host-institution requirements must be evaluated separately.

SJIT admissions information should not be treated as immigration advice. Students participating in an in-person opportunity should consult the official government and host-institution requirements that apply to their nationality and destination.

International Admissions

The admissions model still follows the program.

International students can encounter Open Admissions, Selective Admissions, or program-specific enrollment just like other applicants. The active offering determines what information is needed and whether competitive review applies.
