Integrated Programs are designed to make a valuable external learning opportunity easier to access, easier to navigate, and more useful within a student's broader academic development.

Not every Integrated Program uses identical procedures, but the model follows a consistent logic: identify the opportunity, understand the conditions, support participation, and connect the learning.

Understand the conditions
Format, eligibility, cost, schedule, language, external enrollment requirements, and available SJIT support are defined for the active Integrated Program.

Prepare and participate
Students complete the external provider's course or learning experience while using the support layers made available by SJIT for that offering.

Complementary materials and academic guidance help students place the external experience within a broader technical and academic context.
Support Layers
Four ways SJIT can reduce friction around the external course.
The support available to a student depends on the active offering. These layers describe the model, not a guarantee that every form of support appears in every Integrated Program.
Financial Access
Where available, SJIT may help reduce the financial barrier to selected external learning opportunities through program-specific financial support or financing arrangements.
Language Support
Language assistance can help students understand course materials, instructions, academic expectations, and terminology without replacing the original university experience.
Complementary Materials
SJIT can add contextual materials, preparation, and supporting instruction so an external course connects more naturally to the student's broader learning path.
Academic Guidance
Students receive guidance around fit, preparation, participation, and how the external learning opportunity can complement their academic development at SJIT.
Clear Boundaries
Who does what?
External University
Provides its own course or learning experience, academic content, platform or location, requirements, and any credential or recognition attached to that external offering.
SJIT
Provides the access and support layer described for the Integrated Program, which may include financing, language assistance, complementary materials, and academic guidance.
Before Participating
Always read the active offering, not just the program model.
Students should review the specific external provider, course format, schedule, prerequisites, cost, support available from SJIT, enrollment conditions, and any location-specific requirements before committing to an Integrated Program.
Where an opportunity involves in-person participation, international travel or immigration requirements remain separate from SJIT's academic support and must be handled according to the rules applicable to the destination and external provider.
